Where We Are

How to get here

Take the trolley or the Coaster to the Santa Fe Depot and walk a few hundred yards to the waterfront. MTS will run a full schedule all weekend long for South, East and mid-County residents. North County residents should check the Coaster for their schedule.

If you drive downtown, the Port of San Diego suggests that you park on downtown’s south side at the Convention Center, ballpark or Hilton lots, or on the north at the Sheraton across from the airport. The Port’s Circulator Shuttle will run on Harbor Drive throughout the weekend, between the Hilton and the Sheraton with stops in between. There are many other lots downtown, including a handy one at the Sofia, just a few blocks south of the Front Street exit from the 5, and walking distance to the festivities. Little Italy has valet parking and some killer places for dinner, if you haven’t gorged yourself during your day by the Bay.

Where to Stay

Official U.S. Sand Sculpting Challenge and 3D Art Expo hotels are the Sofia newly renovated boutique Hotel on Broadway and Front Street, and the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina on Harbor Island, just across from the airport. The Sofia is just a few blocks’ walk from the Pier and the Sheraton is a quick shuttle ride away around the Bay (or a nice, but longer, walk as well). Both offer convenient parking and special rates for show goers.
