Pavel has been drawn to art since childhood. At the age of 19 he launched his career in sand sculpture and the rest is history. Pavel studied at Moscow’s Academic Art Institute Surikov and went on to develop a signature style of realism and surrealism. His work reflects an inner world of creativity and wonder.

Due to his recognizable work, Pavel has become a household name in the industry. That is why his art has been recruited into private collections in Russia, America, and Europe. Other than sand, Pavel frequently works with bronze, wood, stone, ice, and snow. He is coming to the U.S. Sand Sculpting Challenge with a special relationship to San Diego – it was the place that launched his career back in 1997 with his first sand sculpting competition. Welcome back Pavel.
